The research – undertaken by independent firm Y Research – showed Bunbury had the fourth lowest vacancy rate in the State.
Vacany rates for 2014 was at 9.6%, up just 0.1% from 2013’s figure of 9.5%.
This compared to:
- South Perth 4.4%
- East Perth 4.9%
- Herdsman 6.4%
- Subiaco 15.8%
- Fremantle 19.5%
- Northbridge 21.2%
Commercial Realty Director Mike Jenkins said Bunbury’s commercial market was currently enjoying a number of positive aspects.
“First and foremost 32% of the Bunbury office space is leased by Government (Federal, State and Local) and this provides a high level of security,” Mr Jenkins said.
“In addition, when considering our leasing rates/sqm, Bunbury ranges from $170-$275 which is very cost effective when looking at Northbridge, for example, which ranges from $250-$550/sqm.
“Furthermore, in terms of overall office space, Bunbury ranks seventh out of the top ten locations in WA.
“On that basis we believe that Bunbury reflects a very attractive locale for major businesses, who may be seeking a cosmopolitan City close to the Perth metro, but without the expensive price tag.”
The research findings will be presented to an upcoming BCCI breakfast on Tuesday 14 October.
